Let It Be: Step Two

Step Two

Hello Year 7! If you are here, you must have completed step one. Now, before getting your parts for the song, I want you to have some background knowledge. You need to do a research task, and post your findings on your own blog.

This unit lasts for 6 weeks, as you know. At the end of week 6, I will be looking at your blogs and giving you a mark out of 20. So remember, your blog is an assessment.
Your other assessment is your performance, for which you will receive a mark out of 10. I gave you assessment task sheets in class, please don’t lose them. So just as a memo, see below:

Assessment Tasks for this unit

  1. Performance: Perform Let It Be in small groups. In your group you will need to play each part on the score. This includes a vocalist, percussionist, bass player and guitar player. Students can play the bass and guitar parts on anther instrument if preferred. Try to play the song with your own unique style. Feel free to arrange it differently! In class, I will be filming your progress in weeks 3, 4 and your final performance in week 5. I will upload the clips on to the blog. Then, EACH student from every group needs to leave a comment outlining the progress you can see your group has accomplished. (10 marks, due week 5)

  2. Blog: You must each create an online music blog. Your blog should contain any online tasks you have been asked to do during this unit. Include pictures of The Beatles in your blog. For each task, please create a new post. Any questions, ask me in class! (20 marks, due week 6)

Your research task is as follows:

Research the group, The Beatles. Post your findings on your music blog. Your research should include information about members of the band, the era of music they were a part of and some reference to specific songs. I will KNOW if you copy and paste! Use your own words at all times.
Lets get started!

Then, continue to Step Three!
